Peter O’Malley Leaving Baltimore Mayor’s Office For Law Firm

BALTIMORE (AP) — Peter O’Malley, Gov. Martin O’Malley’s brother, is leaving the chief of staff position in the Baltimore mayor’s office to join a Baltimore law firm.

Venable LLP announced Friday that he will be counsel in the firm’s Baltimore office focusing on government relations.

He has been Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake’s chief of staff since May. Peter O’Malley also served a brief stint as the chairman of the Maryland Democratic Party before joining the mayor’s office last year.

He worked as chief of staff to former Baltimore County Executive James Smith.

Peter O’Malley also has been active in his brother’s two campaigns for governor. He was the governor’s campaign manager for his Baltimore mayoral victories in 1999 and 2003. He has a law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

If this keeps up she’ll be the only one in her cabinet meetings. Her inability to run gov’t is becoming very clear. She better watch her back. She will have inditment against her for improper use of City funds. She next on the OWE’Malley hitlist.
