Sports Quick Hits: So Long Nakamura, O's Face Twins, And Joe Paterno Stadium

The Orioles will face half the Twins Friday on the road in Fort Myers and after back-to-back losses the Birds could use some good fortune. Chris Tillman gets the start for Baltimore. Dana Eveland will also throw for the Birds.

Other baseball news: After taking a year off in retirement, Andy Pettitte has signed a one-year minor league deal to return to the Yankees worth $2.5 million.

NFL free agency has slowed a bit, and the Ravens continue to lose players. Safety Haruki Nakamura becomes the 4th Raven to depart in the last two days as he is now a member of the Carolina Panthers. Nakamura signed a 3-year deal with the club. The Ravens have made an offer to free agent guard Evan Mathis.

NHL: The Capitals return to the ice Friday looking for their 6th straight win. They are in Winnipeg to face the Jets, who are 4 points behind the Caps for the 8th and final playoff spot. They face off Friday at 8:30pm. Washington is 3 points behind Florida for first place in the southeast division.

And a poll conducted of registered voters in Pennsylvania showed that they favor Penn State's football stadium being re-named after longtime head coach Joe Paterno. Quinnipiac Universtity's study showed that 46 percent approved while 40 percent opposed.
