2 Bicycle-Sharing Stations Open On National Mall
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The first bicycle sharing stations have opened on the National Mall just before the start of Washington's National Cherry Blossom Festival.
Two stations were installed Friday morning. One is located near the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and the other is close to the Washington Monument. They are the first of five Capital Bikeshare stations that have been approved for the National Mall.
Capital Bikeshare is expecting heavy use of the bicycles during the cherry blossom festival. So they will have staff on hand to assist festival attendees.
Capital Bikeshare is run by the District of Columbia government and Arlington, Va.
