9 Displaced After Basement Fire In Dundalk

DUNDALK, Md. (WJZ)— Nine people have been relocated after a basement caught on fire in the 500-block of Trappe Road in Dundalk.

Fire crews responded to the blaze at 10:16  a.m. Saturday. They entered the basement to extinguish the fire and found no one inside the building, which housed six apartments.

One firefighter became disoriented and requested a MAYDAY (fireman trapped). The rapid intervention team entered the structure and safely removed the firefighter within minutes.

The fire was contained at 10:47 a.m.

The nine displaced occupants were assisted by the Red Cross.

No one was injured.
