Mikulski Becomes Longest Serving Woman In Congress

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP/WJZ) — Maryland Sen. Barbara Mikulski is now the longest-serving woman in the history of Congress.

Saturday marks her 12,858 day of service. But who’s counting?

Mikulski, a Democrat, is scheduled to be honored on the Senate floor on Wednesday after serving more than 35 years in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Mikulski, 75, won a U.S. House seat in 1976. The popular senator was re-elected four times in a heavily Democratic Maryland district.

She was elected to the Senate in 1986, and she was re-elected with big majorities in 1992, 1998, 2004 and 2010.

Mikulski became the longest serving female U.S. senator last year. Now, she’s passing the late Rep. Edith Nourse Rogers, who was a Massachusetts Republican, as the longest-serving woman in Congress. Rogers served from 1925 until 1960.

Which is the problem we have today. This women hasn’t done anything useful in the last 15 years. It becomes just a job to these people. SHE IS USELESS!!

Good. So that means Babs can retire now. Oh no! Wait! That means the “Teflon” Leprechaun, little Marty Owe’ Malley, will appoint himself to Bab’s seat and make Lt. Governor Anthony Brown (an obscure man we know nothing about) our next Governor. No thank you. I didn’t think it could get any worst than that until I thought about it! Maybe not because we also know he is starting his run for president early (2016). But MOM will take which ever comes first.

her dried up ass can now get out and let someone who knows the people do the job for a change, everything she ever did was for photo op’s and an ulterior agenda that benefited her in the long run

Last thing she did that was productive was getting important women’s preventive health testing covered by insurance. Since then, all she has done is vote party. Obviously, she does not think on her own. It’s time to put her out to pasture.

Watched the newscast showing her drive off TV Hill’s parking lot and personally saw her on Aliceanna Street. She should NOT be behind the wheel anymore, much less in the Senate. Retire and enjoy retirement Babs!

She is retiring to Florida because Marty wants to much of her money? This is why we need term limits!!!
