2 Critically Injured In ATV Accident

UNION BRIDGE, Md. (AP) -- Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in an all-terrain vehicle accident in Carroll County that left a man and a woman critically injured.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office says the man and woman were taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore after the accident early Sunday morning in Union Bridge.

Police say the man lost control of the ATV and struck a guardrail. Neither he nor his female passenger was wearing a
helmet, and they were found unconscious and unresponsive. They were identified as  James Maticic, 36, of Union Bridge and
Debranne Martin, 19, of Taneytown.
