Quick Hits: Manning Gets $96 Million, Orioles Take On The Phillies And Cabrera On The DL

The dust has settled on Peyton Manning going to Denver, and now the ink is dry on the contract. Manning agreed to terms on a 5-year, $96 million deal. Manning will be introduced as a Bronco Tuesday at 3 p.m.

The Dolphins signed David Garrard to a one-year contract to compete for the starting job with incumbent starter Matt Moore. The Titans have agreed to LB Kameron Wimbley on a 5-year deal worth $35 million, and the Jaguars have signed CB Aaron Ross to a 3 year-deal worth $15.3 million.

The Orioles are back in action Tuesday in Sarasota against the Phillies. In a match up of starters going in opposite directions, Roy Halladay has struggled this spring while Brian Matusz has been untouchable in his last two outings. Nick Markakis makes his first start in RF for the Birds.

Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera suffered a small fracture in the bone under his right eye Monday when a ground ball took a hop and hit him in the face. Cabrera got 8 stitches to close the wound. He is expected to miss at least a week.

NBA Tuesday: 7 games on the schedule with some of the best teams in the league in action. The Heat hosts the Suns in South Beach, the Thunder visit the Jazz, and the Lakers visit the Rockets.
