Metro Seeking Input On Silver Line Station Names

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Washington-area residents have just a few more hours to vote on proposed Metro train station names for the new silver line.

Metro and Fairfax County are asking residents for their help in naming stations along the line, the first phase of which is
expected to open in 2013. An online survey about the station names will remain open until 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The survey includes proposed station names for the eight silver line stations in Fairfax County, five stations that are part of the first phase of the project and three stations that are part of the second phase. The final names for the stations must be approved by Metro's Board of Directors.

The survey can be found at www.wmata.com/silversurvey.
