BALTIMORE (AP) — The Maryland Transit Administration says MARC trains have set a ridership record.

The commuter service had an average weekday ridership of 35,210 in February. The MTA says MARC’s previous high for ridership was 34,618 in November 2011.

Ridership was up 6.1 percent overall for the same time period last year. The Camden Line showed the biggest increase of 7.9 percent. The Penn Line showed a 6.7 percent improvement and the Brunswick Line showed a 3.2 percent increase.

The MTA also set an overall record last month with an average weekday ridership of 414,867 across the system, topping the high from September 2008 of 411,785.
