BLOG: Thursday's Overnight Chill Gives Way To Rain This Weekend

Wednesday's cold front is gone, leaving clear skies and a gusty northwest wind in its wake. Even though we topped out at 65 degrees on Thursday afternoon, that wind is bringing in colder air for the night. A frost advisory is in effect for northern Baltimore County and all the northern-tier counties bordering Pa. We will be seasonably chilly overnight with a forecast low in the upper 30s for BWI-Marshall and near 40 degrees in the city.

Temperatures will recover to near 60 degrees on Friday as clouds start increasing with a new front on the way. The front will bring some rain and maybe a thunderstorm Friday night into Saturday. That front gets out of here Saturday night, but another one could bring some showers again Sunday afternoon. Temperatures may be held in the upper 50s Saturday with the storm moving through but will start climbing again already on Sunday. A new round of warm air will arrive with highs back in the 70s early next week.

There are signs that a shot of cold air arrives later next week - colder air than we've had recently. We will continue to track it and bring you the latest through the weekend.
