Dry Marsh Area Catches Fire Near Bay Bridge
QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—A large brush fire ignited near the Bay Bridge on Tuesday afternoon.
Sky Eye Chopper 13 was over the scene as flames burned away the dry marsh area.
Nearly 500 acres of marsh ground near Thompson Creek off Route 8 caught fire. The location is just five miles away from the Bay Bridge.
Four fire companies responded and brought the fire under control at around 6:15 p.m.
Brush fires are a growing danger because of the recent dry weather.
