Report: Howard County Is Maryland's Healthiest

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) -- A new report finds that Howard County is the healthiest place to live in Maryland, while Baltimore City is ranked as the worst.

The report was released Tuesday by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. It ranks counties in each state by several health factors, as well as other areas such as education, access to health care and unemployment.

The top five healthiest counties in Maryland are Howard, Montgomery, Queen Anne's, Frederick and Carroll. Among the
unhealthiest areas are Baltimore City, and Allegany, Dorchester, Somerset and Caroline Counties.

Baltimore City residents had three times the number of premature deaths than residents in Howard County.
