Frederick Police Hit 'Most Wanted' Milestone

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick city police are marking a milestone in their `Frederick's Most Wanted' program.

Chief Kim Dine said Tuesday that a woman arrested last Wednesday for parole violation and assault was the 200th person captured after being featured in the program.

The 3-year-old program is a collaboration between law enforcement and The Frederick News-Post. Every other Sunday, the newspaper runs photographs of several wanted people and their alleged offenses.

Police say 200 of the 281 subjects featured since April 2009 have been captured.

Dine says the program is one component of a state-funded violence-reduction effort.
