BALTIMORE (WJZ) — With temperatures on the rise, many of you are cranking up your air conditioners.

If you are replacing an old unit, make sure to replace it with an Energy Star-qualified model.  It can help cut your cooling costs 20 percent.

If you have central air, try to keep your thermostat at 78 degrees.  You can save approximately an additional six to seven percent off your cooling costs for each degree above 78.
