Correction: Inmate Death-Hagerstown Story

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- In an April 11 story about an inmate who hanged herself in jail in Hagerstown, The Associated Press, relying on information from the Washington County sheriff, reported erroneously that Kristy Jenkins was dead after hanging herself in a jail bathroom.

Family members and the sheriff now say Jenkins was kept on life support after the suicide attempt.
