Police: Felon Linked To Rifle In Teen's Death Arrested

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore police say they've arrested a felon linked to the rifle his younger relative used in the fatal shooting of a 13-year-old girl.

Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Friday forensic evidence linked the rifle to 21-year-old Martinez Armstrong, a relative of one of the two boys charged with involuntary manslaughter in Monae Turnage's death. He was arrested Thursday and charged with being a felon in possession of a gun.

Police say Turnage was shot last month while two boys, ages 12 and 13, played with the rifle and that they hid her body under trash bags.

Police say an officer suspended for his conduct after the fatal shooting is still on suspension.
