Man Freed From Machine In Prince George's County

LAUREL, Md. (AP) -- A man has been extricated in Prince George's County after getting his legs trapped in a dye machine at a mulch facility.

County fire department spokesman Mark Brady says the department received a phone call at 11 a.m. Tuesday about the incident.

Brady says officials were called to Grant County Mulch in the 5400-block of Van Dusen Road in Laurel. Brady says the man's legs were trapped in the machine.

Fire and Rescue's closed-space team, a certified registered nurse anesthetist from Shock Trauma in Baltimore and a medic from Maryland State police worked to sedate and intubate the man so he could be freed without causing further pain.

Brady says the man was freed about 12:30 p.m. and taken to a trauma center in Baltimore.
