D.C. Man Sentenced To 25 Years In Md. Assault

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A D.C. man accused of posing as a Pepco worker during two home invasions in Maryland has pleaded guilty to one of them.

Kristin Fleckenstein, a spokeswoman for the Anne Arundel state's attorney, says Craig S. Brooks, 50, pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree assault in a robbery in Glen Burnie in May.

Fleckenstein says Brooks was sentenced to 25 years in prison without parole.

According to Anne Arundel police, the victim said Brooks told her he was from Pepco and was there to check on a gas leak.

Police say Brooks then pointed a gun at the victim, tied her up and demanded cash.

Brooks also allegedly posed as a Pepco worker in a Prince George's County home invasion, in which a man was killed.
