Ex-Baltimore Mayor Dixon To Be Roasted For Charity

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Former Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon, who resigned in 2010 amid scandal, will be teased and insulted -- all for charity.

Dixon will be the butt of jokes at a roast Thursday night at The Comedy Factory. The event will be moderated by Baltimore Sun columnist Peter Schmuck and feature DJ Kirk McEwen, radio host Marc Steiner and comedians.

Dixon resigned in 2010 after she was convicted of embezzling gift cards meant for needy families and pleaded guilty to lying about gifts from her developer ex-boyfriend. But the Democrat has hinted at running for mayor again in the future. Part of the proceeds from the roast will be donated to Agape House, where Dixon mentored young women as part of her court-ordered community service.
