Md. Zoo Announces Birth Of Baby Colobus Monkey

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Two black-and-white colobus monkeys at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore are now parents.

The Maryland Zoo says a baby monkey was born Saturday. The baby is the first for two of the zoo's colobus monkeys, 14-year-old Keri and 19-year-old Bisi. The baby's gender isn't yet known.

Colobus monkeys are found in forests in equatorial Africa and have black bodies and long white tails.

The zoo now has four colobus monkeys, two adult females, an adult male and the new infant.
