BGE Crew Moves Osprey Nest To New Platform

HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. (AP) -- Baltimore Gas and Electric has built an osprey nesting platform in Havre de Grace in hopes of keeping a pair of birds from resting on a utility pole.

The Baltimore Sun reports that a crew put up a platform over the weekend near the intersection of Route 40 and Revolution Street, near where the two ospreys have been trying to rebuild a nest. Crews had previously removed one from the top of a pole near a car dealership.

The new nest was removed from the pole and put on the platform.

The crew says it had the right to move the nest for the safety of the birds.
