Man Gets Life Plus 20 Years In Girlfriend's Murder

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A man who reported his girlfriend missing after shooting her in the head and dumping her body in the woods has been sentenced to life plus 20 years in prison.

Tyrone Webb Jr. was sentenced Monday in Baltimore City Circuit Court. He was convicted of first-degree murder in January.

Webb's first trial in 2010 ended in a mistrial in Baltimore County. Prosecutors say an informant came forward and the second trial was held in Baltimore City when the informant reported Mia Nichols was shot in her apartment.

Webb reported Nichols missing in October 2008. Her skeletal remains were found by two hunters in a wooded area in Baltimore County in September 2009.
