Man Arrested For Attack At Hyattsville Daycare Center

HYATTSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County Police say a 26-year-old man is in custody following a baseball bat attack at a Hyattsville daycare center.

Police say Mickel Tyrone Young entered the daycare center Thursday morning and became violent after staff members wouldn't let him use a telephone. Police say he then took a bat from a security guard and beat him, causing serious injuries before leaving. He returned a short time later and used the bat to break windows at the daycare center before taking an employee's car keys and driving off.

WTOP reports Young was taken into custody near FedEd Field and brought later to a hospital for a mental
evaluation. Police say no children saw the incident or were injured at the daycare center.
