Md. Man Arrested After Alleged Assault With Couch
WALDORF, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say a Waldorf man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a woman and then throwing a couch on her.
The Charles County Sheriff's Office says Gregory Derrell Lea, 42, was charged with assault and theft Wednesday.
Authorities say Lea and the 27-year-old victim were arguing when Lea punched the victim, kicked and choked her and then threw a couch on top of her.
Officials were called to the scene in the 2400-block of Lake Drive about 12:30 a.m. Authorities say Lea fled the apartment in the victim's car and was later arrested at a nearby store.
The victim was treated for minor injuries.
