Prince George's Police Unveil Traffic Safety Plan

NEW CARROLLTON, Md. (AP) -- Police in Prince George's County are announcing a new traffic safety initiative aimed at improving the quality of life in the county.

The "Take 30 for Traffic" plan is being announced Tuesday.

It's a traffic and pedestrian safety enforcement strategy that the police say will cover 10 locations in the county. It's also part of a new effort to improve select neighborhoods.

Assistant Police Chief Kevin Davis is scheduled to discuss the initiative at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of Quizno's, at 8310 Annapolis Road, in New Carrollton.
