Metro Warns Of Delays Reaching Caps, Nats Games

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro transit officials are warning riders to allow plenty of extra travel time this weekend because of service disruptions on all five rail lines.

The biggest delays may be on Metro's green line. Stations between Fort Totten and Greenbelt will be closed to allow for switch replacements on the track. So Metro will run shuttle buses along that stretch instead.

Green line trains will operate normally between Fort Totten and Branch Avenue. Yellow line trains will stop at Mount Vernon Square.

On the red line, trains will operate every 24 minutes throughout the weekend. Trains are single-tracking in two locations between Forest Glen and Takoma and between Van Ness and Dupont Circle.

Maintenance is planned on the blue and orange lines as well.
