WEATHER BLOG: Wet Weather To Dry Out By The End Of The Week

Happy Mother's Day!

After a beautiful first half of the day, the approaching storm became obvious in the late afternoon. First the clouds came in, then rain and thunderstorms spread into western Maryland - all the way over to Carroll County. In the immediate Baltimore area, there have only been a few light showers so far. This is a very slow moving storm that will bring rounds of rain and maybe some thunderstorms overnight through early Wednesday. Yes, it's going to be around a while. There is the potential to get a good rainfall out of this storm - which is still needed since we are officially in a moderate drought.

The storm will be slow to depart on Wednesday, so there might still be a few showers around. Then, drier air will arrive Thursday.

It will be cooler Monday, but overall, this will be a warm week. Highs will be closer to 70 degrees before climbing back to the upper 70s Tuesday. We will be back up to near 80 degrees again Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

ATTENTION TEACHERS, STUDENTS, AND PARENTS: We have been working on the Weather Field Trip Day program and are excited that it's just over a week away!!! The fun-filled day is set for Wednesday, May 23. You can still get tickets. Click here for more information.
