Fatal Shooting In Southeast Ruled A Homicide
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Metropolitan Police Department says a fatal shooting from last July in southeast has been ruled a homicide.
Police say the death of Pernell Dawkins, 43, was ruled a homicide this week. He was found suffering from a gunshot wound on July 17, 2011, in the 300-block of Ridge Road. Police say Dawkins was paralyzed as a result of the shooting and transferred to a rehabilitation center in Maryland, where he died in March.
The case was classified as a homicide after an autopsy was performed by the chief medical examiner's office in Baltimore.
