Md. Man Sentenced To Life For Plot To Kill Witness
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Maryland man convicted of conspiring to kill a witness who was going to testify against him in a drug case has been sentenced to life in prison.
Weldon Gordon, 34, of Upper Marlboro was sentenced in the 2008 killing of Andre Hayes, 32, who was cooperating with the DEA in an investigation of drug activities.
Prosecutors said Gordon directed his girlfriend to befriend the witness. She then lured Hayes to a house where Gordon shot and killed him on Nov. 1, 2008.
