GREENBELT, Md. (AP) — U.S. Park Police say a District of Columbia woman and a Pennsylvania man have been killed in a crash on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

Police say Judith Shinogle, 49, and Mohammed Hossain, 22, of West Lawn, Pa., died in the crash about 6:30 a.m. Sunday. Sgt. Paul Brooks says the wreck occurred when a minivan heading southbound crossed the median and slammed into an SUV near the exit for Route 193 in Greenbelt.

Brooks says Hossain was driving the minivan and Shinogle was in the SUV.

Shinogle died at the scene, and Hossain was taken to a hospital where he later died.

The crashed forced authorities to close the parkway for about three hours.
