Man Convicted Of All Counts In 2006 Murder Of Glen Burnie Dentist

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ)-- An Anne Arundel County jury convicted the hitman responsible for the September 2006 murder of Glen Burnie dentist Dr. Albert Ro.

Dante Jeter, 25, of Baltimore, faces life without parole when he goes to sentencing July 24.  He was convicted of first-degree felony murder, robbery, burglary and conspiracy to commit murder.

Jeter's co-defendant and cousin, Shontay Hickman, pleaded guilty to the crime in February of this year.

Called as a witness in Jeter's trial, she told the jury of how she hired Jeter and two of his friends to kill Ro as she was afraid he had uncovered the fact that she had been stealing insurance checks from the business.

She recounted that she placed the funds in her personal account to use for bills that had been accumulating due to financial hardship.  In total, Hickman stole approximately $17,000.

She paid Jeter $1,000 for the murder.

Jeter is currently serving a 60-year sentence for a 2008 Baltimore City murder over a $150 drug debt.

The remaining two individuals who participated in the murder have not been charged.  If anyone has any information about them, contact the Anne Arundel County Police Department Cold Case squad at 410-222-3460.
