Police: Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Drunk Driver

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- Ocean City police say a pedestrian was struck and killed by a drunk driver while trying to cross Coastal Highway.

Police say the driver didn't stop after hitting the 22-year-old victim with his sport-utility vehicle early Monday morning.
Witnesses followed him until police arrived to arrest him.

The driver, 30-year-old Diogo Facchini of Lorton, Va., has been charged with homicide by motor vehicle while intoxicated, among other offenses.

The victim was identified as Matthew Cheswick of Cooksville. He died at a hospital.
