Former Metro Employee Sentenced In Scheme
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Prince George's County judge has sentenced a former Metro employee to one year in jail for paying workers for hours they did not work.
According to the county state's attorney, Alfred Atanga, 52, falsified some employees' time sheets and gave them double time and overtime that they did not earn. Atanga was also ordered Monday to pay Metro $9,100 in restitution.
Atanga was convicted of two charges of theft in March.
