Md. Man Found Dead In Car In Potomac River
OLDTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say an Oldtown man was found dead inside his car after the vehicle went off a private toll bridge into the Potomac River.
The Cumberland Times-News reports that Lawrence Kennell, 74, was found dead inside his 2004 Cadillac after the accident late Sunday night.
Police told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the investigating officer detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from Kennell's body after it was recovered.
Investigators are awaiting a medical examiner's report on the cause of death.
The bridge is a one-lane, wooden structure with no guard rails that connects Oldtown to Green Spring, W.Va.
