WEATHER BLOG: Cool Weather Sticks Around

The cool weather sticks around, at least for now.

We are locked in that same weather pattern we have been talking about since the storms got out of here Friday night.  There is a huge dip in the jetstream sitting over the northeast.  That keeps the cool air coming down from the north, while also keeping our atmosphere unsettled.  Morning sunshine gives way to building clouds each day in this pattern, with the chance for those clouds to produce some showers or thunderstorms each and every day.

Temperatures have been running below the average of 80 degrees during this time.  And Tuesday has been the coolest one yet, with highs only in the upper 60s in some places!  This pattern is going to continue through Thursday, before changes kick in.

The large jetstream dip will lift, replacing the cool air with a big time warm up.  Temperatures will jump back to the 80s starting Friday and may even get to around 90 degrees this weekend.
