DOJ Official To Become U. Of Baltimore Law Dean

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A Department of Justice official will become the new dean of the University of Baltimore School of Law.

The Department of Justice announced Wednesday that Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs Ronald Weich will be leaving to take the position.

According to a Department of Justice biography Weich previously served as chief counsel to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada and counsel to former Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter and the late Massachusetts senator Edward M. Kennedy. He was nominated to his Department of Justice post in 2009.

Weich is a New York native and a graduate of Columbia University and the Yale Law School.

The University of Baltimore School of Law is one of two law schools in Maryland. The other is the University of Maryland School of Law.
