WEATHER BLOG: Highs To Gradually Climb From Mid-70s To 90s This Week

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

After a patch of morning clouds, sunshine ruled the day again. Those clouds did keep our high down to 75 degrees, although it certainly felt much warmer than that if you were in the sun. That's because this Wednesday is the summer solstice - when the sun will be at its highest position in the sky. Make sure you really lather on the sunscreen if you are going to spend an extended period outside. I am usually so good about that, but it got the best of me today.

The sun may take a short break Monday. A warm front will bring some clouds and maybe a shower or thunderstorm our way. Highs will be in the mid 70s with the warm front passing through. However, behind that front, here comes the heat. We have got a real shot of summer weather coming our way for the start of summer. Highs will jump to the upper 80s Tuesday, then keep going to the 90s Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. With the humidity/dew points factored in, it could feel like the low 100s.

There is the chance for a pop up shower or thunderstorm late each day while in that heat. Then, those chances increase Friday as a cold front passes through the state.
