Man, 2 Dogs Die In Baltimore House Fire

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore fire officials say a 51-year-old man and two dogs were killed in a house fire.

The flames broke out around 11 p.m. Saturday at a one-story home in East Baltimore. Fire department spokesman Kevin Cartwright says firefighters at the scene were told a man was trapped inside, and the victim was found dead in a room.

Four people were able to escape from the home. One woman suffered smoke inhalation and minor burns, while the other three were uninjured.

Fire officials say the home had no working smoke detectors.

The fire was brought under control in less than half an hour. The cause remains under investigation.
