Man Charged With 8th Drunken Driving Offense

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a Berlin man has been arrested and charged with his eighth drunken driving offense.

WBOC-TV reports James Nibblett, 47, failed to stop at a red light and hit a car stopped at an intersection in Salisbury early Sunday morning. Police say Nibblett failed field sobriety tests and was arrested.

Police say Nibblett's driver's license was suspended and was required to have an ignition interlock device on his vehicle.

Police say the device was not present on the sport-utility vehicle he was driving.

No one was injured in the crash.

An attorney for Nibblett could not immediately be reached.
