Md. Honors Anatomical Donors At Burial Service

SYKESVILLE, Md. (AP) — The state of Maryland is honoring people who donated their bodies to science.

The State Anatomy Board says it will hold a burial service for the cremated remains at the Springfield Hospital Center in
Sykesville on Monday afternoon.

Gov. Martin O’Malley is proclaiming it “Anatomical Donor Appreciation Day” in Maryland. The annual service recognizes the donated and unclaimed bodies used for medical and dental education and research in Maryland.

Families and friends of the deceased are invited to attend.
