Here comes summer, and here comes the heat!
A warm front is still making its way across Maryland Tuesday morning. That’s why there are clouds and spotty showers. That front will lift north of us Tuesday afternoon. Sunshine will break through and temperatures will start jumping. We will quickly bounce to the upper 80s later on before climbing to the upper 90s Wednesday and Thursday.
The current records for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are all 100 degrees (from varying years). We may not break those records, but we will be close. Thursday is our best shot. When you factor in the high humidity/dewpoints with the temperatures, it will feel like 100 degrees. This is the kind of weather where you really have to be careful if spending an extended period of time outdoors. Take breaks, stay hydrated, and make sure to check on the kids, elderly, and pets.
There is the chance for a late-day thunderstorm Thursday but a better chance for more thunderstorms Friday as a cold front swings by the state. That front will knock temperatures down into the 80s for the weekend. Any showers will get out of here early Saturday before another front bring the chance for a shower or thunderstorm again on Sunday.
