GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) — Montgomery County police say one man was shot and five others were stabbed in a melee outside a restaurant in Gaithersburg.

Police say about 100 people were fighting in the parking lot of the New Red Rock Cafe when officers arrived around 1:30 Sunday morning.

The restaurant had advertised a “Rapper Karaoke Night” that attracted young adults from across the Washington area. Police believe the brawl began between female patrons inside the restaurant.

Police say one man suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, and five young men suffered non-life-threatening stab wounds. In addition, a woman suffered cuts and a male was struck with a blunt object. Others with injuries refused treatment.

Police say participants in the brawl did not cooperate with officers, and so far police have not identified any suspects.
