Baltimore City Officer Faces Perjury, Misconduct Charges

BALTIMORE (WJZ)–A Baltimore City police officer is facing charges.

According to WJZ’s media partner, The Baltimore Sun, Anthony Fata, a 14-year veteran, has been charged with perjury, misconduct in office and making false claims.

He was shot last January when he claimed an unknown man fired at him, but investigators now believe the bullet came from his own weapon.

The officer denies the allegations.

The department says the case remains open.
