Ex-Del. Chief Takes Over Md. Schools
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Maryland's new State Superintendent of Schools has begun her job.

Lowery has signed a four-year contract.
Lowery succeeds Bernard J. Sadusky, who became interim superintendent when Nancy S. Grasmick retired last year.
