1 Slain, 2 Fatally Struck By Cars In Prince George's County

PALMER PARK, Md. (AP) -- Police in Prince George's County are investigating a fatal shooting and two unrelated pedestrian deaths.

Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a police spokesman, tells The Washington Post that a man was shot and killed around 6:40 p.m. Saturday in the Langley Park area. Police have no suspects or motive.

Police are also investigating a death that Copeland says may have been accidental but was connected to criminal activity. He says several masked gunmen had ordered several people to lie down in a roadway in Fairmount Heights. A woman who police believe was startled ran over one of the victims in her car.

In the third incident, a woman was struck and killed by a tow truck in the Langley Park area.

Police are notifying relatives before releasing the victims' names.
