Guard Members Return From Afghanistan

FORT BELVOIR, Va. (AP) — National Guard soldiers assigned to the Fort Belvoir-based 29th on security matters to senior Afghan leaders are back home. The team was split among five locations in Kabul.

About 30 Virginia soldiers returned to the state on Saturday. About 35 soldiers from the Maryland National Guard also took part in the mission.

A formal ceremony recognizing their service will take place in about three months.
