The Orioles begin the 2nd half leading the majors in errors. With 3/5ths of their starting rotation in the minors and without a true leadoff hitter. If that is not enough, they also play twenty games without any rest as their next off day will not occur, until August 2nd.
That does not concern Manager Buck Showalter. Buck says; “the players are all on the same page and that they know what needs to happen”. This year the second half of the season might be meaningful and also special because the O’s could make a playoff push for the first time in since 1997.
The Birds might be able to add a piece to the puzzle before the trade deadline-but ONLY if they are still fighting for a playoff berth. No need to mortgage the future…yet.
