HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — A memorial service is set for a former Marshall University linebacker.

Marshall’s athletic department says the service for J.T. Rembert will be held starting at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bridgeway Community Church in Columbia, Md.

He was a member of the 1998 Oakland Mills football state championship team in Columbia and played at Marshall from 2001 to 2004.

Rembert had lived with his family in Huntington. He died July 10 while vacationing in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was 29.

A coroner’s report said Rembert died of a pulmonary embolism.
