The Ravens 'Rays Of Light'

With Veterans participating in their 1st day of training camp, Ravens RB Ray Rice spoke to the media for the first time since signing his new five year, 40 million dollar contract extension. He is very happy with the deal ( who wouldn't be ?) and the first thing he did was buy his mom a new house. A very kind deed by the classy Rice, who claims he wants to be a Raven "for life" . He mentioned that after signing the deal , July 13th "When I left the building, I was relieved that the business side of football was finally over". Now Rice, and the rest of the team can get ready for the season and take one step closer to a championship. And remove the sour taste of New England.

Veteran leader Ray Lewis also addressed the media. Lewis is entering his 17th season wearing the purple and black. But this year he arrived slimmer than ever before , "Under 240 pounds " is all Lewis would disclose. He added "I really appreciate and love the competition and the brotherhood in the lockeroom, that is what makes the game beautiful". Lewis has been the vocal leader for the team since he came into the league and hopes to guide them back to another AFC Championship, and then a shot at the Lombardi trophy. The only reason he still plays . When one reporter asked Lewis about the Ravens "aging defense " - he shot back :"we have a top 3-5 Defense every year, and we do not even think about that, we just go out there and do our jobs."
