Off-Duty Prince George’s Officer Injured In Gunfire

HYATTSVILLE, Md. (AP) — An off-duty Prince George’s County police officer is recovering after being shot outside a Hyattsville nightclub where she was working a security job, and three suspects have been taken into custody.

Police say the officer was injured early Saturday morning at the Galaxy nightclub on University Boulevard. Her injuries are not life threatening.

Police spokeswoman Julie Parker says the officer kicked three adults out of the club. Parker says the group then drove their car slowly past the entrance of the club, and a male suspect reached through the passenger side window and shot the officer in the leg.

Police arrested one man and two women.
